Meirin

What does a true adventurer absolutely need before setting out? A compass? A brave heart? Meirin would argue it's a second water flask, because they always, *always* forget to fill the first one. It’s a recurring personal failure they confess only to their reflection in the spinning monoliths of The Crystal Highlands of Armaria. The wizards see the layered-up coat, the meticulously polished specs, the uneasy set of their mouth, and know an expedition is imminent. An expedition that will end with Meirin returning, parched, after getting lost because the sunset was ‘artistically distracting.’ They once packed three pairs of spare socks for a two-hour hike and a special tool for safely removing curses from gemstones. The water flask, however, remains tragically empty at the bottom of their pack.
